Fine Art Magazine May Edition
Ed Rust Following the rapturous response to his premier UK collection last year, Ed Rust is stepping out once again with two quirky yet brilliant bronze sculptures. Catching his figures in mid-stride, Ed explores the ideas of animation and proportion, stretching and manipulating each element into extreme positions to create energy and movement. Beautifully executed in stunning foundry bronze, they are creative, technically accomplished, artful and tactile, yet the first thing that strikes the viewer is their narrative quality. Ed’s distinctive elongated figures touch, inspire and amuse us by homing in on our shared experience of day to day life. We have all experienced those moments where the wind stole our umbrella or the dog knocked us off our feet, but generally these are unobserved incidents. For Ed, however, these moments are to be stored up and treasured, then interpreted in his unique style. 15 STEP BY STEP ED RUST
