FAMILY Each house with a heart represents a family member and the love that they share. Chloë often places a group of houses together on a hill, traditionally a safe place, and surrounds them with a picket fence: this represents keeping the family safe and secure. In addition to the symbolism that she has created in each piece, Chloë wants people to write their own stories and make their own connection. For example, the house held up by stars and a heart, is an analogy for all the wishes she has made blowing out the candles on birthday cakes over the years, along with a kiss for good luck. To someone else it could represent something entirely different and she absolutely encourages creative thinking!
